Environment´s information

The Berguedà region is crossed from north to south by the limpid waters of the Llobregat river. The combination of art and nature coexists in a perfectly well balanced symbiosis in this area. The practice of a wide variety of sports is, undoubtedly, a basic complement for your stay. Hiking, with plenty of paths, will make you discover areas of our valleys and mountains which are unique. One of them is called El Camí dels Bons Homes (The path of the Good Men), the longest and more tourist route in our area (GR-107).
And... we can not forget the gastronomy! In our restaurants you will be able to taste our cuisine based on natural products which combine the most typical dishes with the most sophisticated flavours.
The traditions and popular festivities are also essential to understand the culture and history of our region. The most important one, called La Patum, has recently been declared a Master Piece of the Oral and Immaterial Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO.
Small village of the Berguedà region formed by stone streets and a church in its centre, a nice place to visit and enjoy its art heritage. In the inner village you can find basic services and a small commercial offer with typical products.
EXCURSIONS: the Pedraforca mountain (2.497 mm high), Rasos de Peguera ski resort, Baells reservoir, Queralt Sanctuary (in Berga), Romanesque Art Route, Cadí Moixeró Natural Park (the biggest natural area in Catalonia), Castellar de N´Hug (birthplace of the Llobregat river), the Artigas Gardens designed by the Catalan famous architect, Antoni Gaudí (Bagà).
ACTIVITIES: adventure sports (paragliding, canyoning, climbing, speleology, mountaineering), snow sports (in Rasos de Peguera ski resort, at 14 km. from Berga, in Coll de Pal ski resort, shortly to be connected with La Molina and in Parc de Neu, near Saldes), water sports (in the Baells reservoir), hunting, fishing, mushroom collection, cycling, horse-riding, quad excursions, trekking and hiking.


Small village of the region of Berguedá built by stone streets and a church in its center, invited to walk and to enjoy its artistic heritage. The urban core, very small, offers basic services and a small commercial offer with typical products. The environment of Olvan offers a big number of routes that you can do them by food, by bike or by horse that let seeing the hundreds of country houses of the municipality. To observe the rural life you can visit Fuives, the country house which keeps and reproduces the stallion, the Catalonian donkey, with more than hundreds of examples. It is advisable to meet the mycological tradition of Cal Rosal with its Market of Mushrooms between September and November, the Party of Mushroom on the fourth Sunday of October and the festival of the Truffle of Berguedá in winter. And obviously you can pick up mushrooms in the mounts or tasting them in the restaurants of the area.
